Lost & Found: Uber’s 7th Lost & Found Index

Most of us have forgotten something in a mode of public transport – be it a smartphone, sunglasses, or a jacket hastily flung onto the seat whilst fumbling around with luggage. Heck, a former managing editor of this place once managed to inexplicably leave his passport on an airplane, stranding him in a foreign country whilst he frantically sought a replacement.

In that vein, ridesharing company Uber has complied its 7th annual snapshot of riders’ most forgotten and most unique lost items.

Junkyard Find: 1986 BMW 325es

When I first became a wise and fair judge for the 24 Hours of Lemons race series, back in 2008, I got a lot of static from Internet Car Experts who noted the large quantity of BMW E30s in every race and proclaimed that any E30 in any condition was worth at least ten times more than the Lemons $500 limit on car cost. Because I spent a great deal of time in self-service junkyards and saw that—at least in California—such places were overflowing with unwanted E30s, I knew they were wrong. 15 years later, though, E30s have become fairly rare in junkyards, so this fairly complete 325es in a Colorado yard caught my eye a few weeks back.

2022 Subaru WRX Review: Rest That Leg

I’ve said it before, but I’m getting old. Rather than comparing daycare centers, I’m visiting colleges. I’ve actually purchased cars in the past for less than I just spent on a prom dress for my eldest daughter. My wife and barber tell me that my hair is thinning.

And I ache. While any leg pain I attribute to an old football injury really dates to a drunken fall over a coffee table while watching the Super Bowl, my daily intake of ibuprofen is considerable. So I’m finding that when shopping for a new fun-to-drive car, a manual transmission isn’t necessarily a must-have. Might as well start fitting me for a tennis-ball-clad walker and pants hitched up to my nipples.

A CVT, however, has never been atop my list of favorite transmissions. They seem to suck all the enjoyment out of driving. But when this 2022 Subaru WRX appeared sans third pedal, I had to do a double take. I suppose the flat-brim-cap wearing, vaping, skater bros have to grow up, too. Did their car of choice grow up with them?

2024 Acura Integra Type S Pricing Starts Above $50,000

Acura has finally announced pricing for the new 2024 Integra Type S and it has predictably come out as more expensive than the Honda Civic Type R with a starting MSRP of $51,995. The Acura offers additional standard equipment, however, and produces a smidgen more power from the 2.0-liter turbo the two models share. Though the over $7,000 pricing premium might make the fancier badge a tough sell, especially these days.

Porsche will reportedly be raising prices between 4 and 8 percent on the European and U.S. markets during the second half of 2023 to cope with higher operating costs noted in its first-quarter earnings announcement. • Jagboi The Canadian Mark VI's had the "Electronic fuel injection" badge on the side, but had the Ford Variable Venturi carb. The Canadian brochure for these cars does not have the portion about EFI that the US brochures have. A bit of false advertising for sure.I've seen a number of these cars up to 1983 and none of the Canadian market cars had EFI. The US cars had a crank triggered ignition systenm, the Canadian cars had the Duraspark just like the carbed Ford and Mercury Panthers.

  • Alan Many Ford designs that are manufactured in China are designed in Australia. Ford just fired hundreds of engineers. That only leaves engineers to keep on designing the Rangers, Bronco, etc.
  • Alan Big Al,Seems the author has confused horsepower and kilowatts. Check out what the Aussie Ranger Raptor power output is.The VW Amarok is the 2.3 Eco Boost, I think its about what the author wrote. To be fair, the author may be quoting EU hp.
